New Studio Space

Laura Lewis

A year ago my best friend, Greg, and I moved into a massive building serving as a collection of art studios. We did this in order to continue our artwork in a collective space. We have been very happy here.

This past week we just moved into an even bigger and more secure space in the same building. I cannot believe it has been over a year now that we have had a dedicated art space in the North Portland neighborhood.

We just recently had a holiday sale in which the whole space invited the community to check out our workspaces and indulge in our artwork. It was a complete success and I cannot wait to do it again. Next year will be even bigger.

Wow, it happened.

I can't believe I have finally created a website.  It is not the most sophisticated site on the planet and the pictures are literally me holding my work, but it's a step in the right direction.  I'm hoping that I can update this blog on at least a quarterly if not monthly basis.

Because this is my first blog post, I have decided to set some goals for myself. They are:

- try drawing everyday

even doodles would be better than nothing

- get more active on social media

while I will probably never understand twitter, I can definitely get down on some instagram, tumblr, even youtube!

- create some original works that I can actually turn into prints

this one is admittedly more difficult than the previous two but one that I've always wanted to try out.

Other than that I've got nothing.  Thanks for checking out the new site.

This really needed to happen. Let me know what you think and I can hopefully oblige any changes you think need to be made.
